Montée à la frontale depuis Merlingen jusqu'à la vallée du Justistal. Le brâme résonnera toute la journée dans la vallée. Une belle rencontre mais pas d'opportunité pour une belle photo, trop éloigné. Un cerf est sorti des bois à une quinzaine de mètres des photographes 5 minutes avant notre arrivée. Malgré notre patience, il restera dans le bois ensuite. Un cerf sortira ensuite du flanc ouest de la vallée pour tenter de traverser celle-ci à une centaine de mètres de nous, cependant il rebroussera chemin (effrayé par un photographe). Il ressortira une heure après, alors que nous nous trouvions à plus d'un kilomètre de lui, engagés vers le col pour rejoindre le Niederhorn. Si aucune bonne opportunité de photo ne s'est présentée, nous avons tout de même eu la possibilité d'une belle rencontre.

Headlamp climb from Merlingen to the Justistal valley. The bellowing sound will echo through the valley all day long. A nice encounter but no opportunity for a good photo, too far away. A deer came out of the woods about 15 meters from the photographers 5 minutes before we arrived. Despite our patience, it remained in the woods afterwards. A deer then came out of the west side of the valley and tried to cross it a hundred metres from us, but turned back (frightened by a photographer). It emerged an hour later, when we were more than a kilometer away, heading for the pass to reach the Niederhorn. While no good photo opportunities presented themselves, we did have the chance of a great encounter.

Nous sortons du Justistal par un col et nous nous dirigeons vers le Gemenalphorn. Le paysage rappelle le Vercors avec des champs de rochers. Nous mangeons au sommet, et des choucas viennent nous survoler.

We leave the Jusstistal over a pass and head for the Gemenalphorn. The landscape is reminiscent of the Vercors, with its rocky fields. We eat at the summit and jackdaws fly overhead.

En reprenant notre route, les sommets surplombant Grindelwald se révèlent au nord, et le soleil, en mouvement, permet quelques photos. Dans les contreforts du Burgfelstand, des chamois et leurs cabris s'offrent à nous. L'un d'entre eux en particulier se laisse photographier. Cependant, il est très petit pour la période, et l'hiver approche rapidement...

As we resume our journey, the peaks overlooking Grindelwald come into view to the north, and the sun, on the move, allows us to take a few photos. In the foothills of Burgfelstand, chamois and their goats come into view. One of them in particular is photographed. However, it is very small for the time of year, and winter is fast approaching...
